Only One More Card Needed....

I have only one more card to acquired in order to complete my collection of Topps & Bowman Indians collection.  The remaining card is rare and thus very expensive.  When I finally do add the final card my collection will be a major source of accomplishment.  I hope to add the final card this summer.

The final card:  1949 Bowman Satchel Paige.

The Never Ending Project: Vintage Cleveland Indians Checklist

Being an avid vintage Cleveland Indians collector, I have always been interested in finding or creating a checklist for all Indians baseball cards manufactured before 1970.  In years past I maintained my checklists on notepads, scraps of paper or index cards.  I was always scouring the internet for a comprehensive vintage Indians checklist but to my surprise my hunt was unsuccessful.  So I decided to create my own checklist for my favorite team.  Since I am also an avid MS Excel user for my work as a business analyst, the popular spreadsheet program would be a perfect tool for my project.  I always keep in my mind that I will never be able to identify every vintage Tribe card that exists but I thought it would be an interesting exercise   I was right.  Over the years through various sources both mine and the internet, I have been able to create an impressive vintage Cleveland Indians Checklist.  And its been a lot of fun researching the various manufactures for my beloved Tribe cards.

Honestly I am quite surprised there are not thousands of team checklists littered across the internet.  Vintage collectors are meticulous about tracking their vintage cards and we all know there are thousands of collectors that dedicate their time and financial resources to a single favorite team.  Sure I see checklists for sets and individual players but team checklists for vintage cards seem to be scarce.  Maybe its because so many baseball card guides are published by set, not teams.
